Migros' current Merci campaign with the iconic Frech-Hoch bus brings back many memories of times gone by. For us at GK, this bus has a very special meaning.
In 2017, GK Grünenfelder AG took over Frech Hoch AG, based in Pratteln, thereby integrating a piece of Swiss transport history into the Group. The legendary Frech Hoch bus, which is back on the road today as part of the Merci campaign, was once built by the long-established Basel-based company.
Today, our GK branch in Pratteln has emerged from the former takeover - a location where we continue the technical know-how and many years of experience of Frech Hoch and combine it with the innovative strength of GK Grünenfelder. For us, this connection is more than just a look back: It shows how we combine tradition and future under one roof.
And it is precisely this interaction that characterizes our long-standing collaboration with Migros - a company that also relies on strong roots and a clear vision for tomorrow. For many years now, we at GK Grünenfelder have been building the vehicles for the Migros logistics of tomorrow. The most recent example: 20 new gas-powered trucks that are currently in use for Migros Ostschweiz. These vehicles are not only technically state-of-the-art - they also run on 100% fossil-free Swiss biogas. An environmentally friendly and economically attractive alternative to diesel, which shows that Sustainability in logistics is not a trend, but a reality.
Our collaboration with Migros is emblematic of what we live by as a company: Reliability, quality, responsibility - then as now.
We are particularly pleased that the Merci bus recently made a stop in Oberriet - just a few kilometers from our headquarters in Kriessern. A wonderful coincidence that connects the past and the future.
